There is a Flash game called Smite Thee where you play as Zeus. When an “unbeliever” walks over to steal a brick from your temple, you hit the space bar to smite them with a lightening bolt. I suppose that is one way to handle conflict. I smite thee. Or I can be passive-aggressive and I ignore thee.
We humans have many ways we handle conflict and criticism, but I am thankful for how Romans 5:10 says God handled a conflict. For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! When we were God’s enemies, he took the initiative to restore the relationship, at his own hurt. That is something we can be thankful for, and emulate with each other.
